There are four zones of a candle flame.
They are:
1) A bright-blue region, where wax burns completely; ie. complete combustion takes place here.
2) The dark inner coating contains unburnt wax-vapours.
3) The luminous region contains unburnt carbon particles.( complete combustion doesn’t take place here.)
4) An outer mantle surrounds the entire flame, which, many a times, is not prominently visible.
