the election in our India is held by following process-
1. Marking of constituency : constituencies are formed in a state and each constituency had a similar type of population
2. preparing Electoral roll : IT is the list of eligible voters in a constituency.

Filing of nominations : the nominations of the candidates is an important part of elections.
Scrutiny of Nominations:
The Returning Officer scrutinizes the nomination paper carefully and when someone is dissatisfied then he is officially stopped from contesting elections for 6 years.
election campaign : parties popularize their ideas and give their election manifestos.
polling : on the day of election the voters give their votes either by placing the seal-mark against the name of the candidate he wants to vote for or by pressing the button of the voting machine.
