The amount and timing to release a hormone is controlled by a mechanism known as feedback mechanism.
Ex: When the blood sugar level in our body increases the pancreas secretes more insulin and if blood sugar level gets lowered it lessens its insulin secretion.
This is controlled by feedback mechanism.
