The condition produced by aerial oxidation of fats and oils in food marked by unpleasant smell and taste is called Rancidity. For Example, Potato Chips when kept in air for a long time gives unpleasant smell and bad taste.

corrosion = when iron articles are eaten up by moisture and air so they got corroded
rancidity= when edible items react with O2 they got rancid or they are oxidized
corrosion eg= iron got risted
rancid= eg : potato chips get rancid so they are flushed with nitrogen to prevent oxidation of food
