The Aryan life had been divided into four main parts they are

The Brahmacharin or The Celibate Student: The period of study and discipline.

The Grihastha or The Householder: The period of entering marriage life.

The Vanaprastha or The Recluse: The period of preparation for the final stage of the sanyasa.

The Sannyasin or The Renunciate: The period in which a man should leave every belongings from wife, children, religion, cast, nationality and should only spend his time in living alone the remaining life and spend time on meditation.
