Land is considered as a natural resource of utmost importance because people perform many activities on it.
It supports vegetation, animal life, trees, human life, transport network etc.
Hence, it is in the hands of human kind to save and conserve land resources.
Forest provide varied kinds of products to mankind like fuel, medicinal products, gum, rubber, wood etc.
Non agricultural lands are developed into residential plots, roads, factories etc.
For example, mountains account for 30% of total surface of the country and it is the source of many perennial rivers originating from it.
Around 45% of land surface is utilized for agriculture as some of the plains possess fertile soils.
Around 25% of the land area is in plateaus which is a source of minerals, fossil fuels, etc.
Hence, land should be put to best use in order to conserve the same.

Land resources means which occur naturally with in the environment in a natural form.These resources are exhaustible and non renewable as they cannot be regenerated or reproduced.These resources are also called as abiotic resources.India is a seventh largest country of the world.This vast size itself is the most important resource.about 30 percent of area is covered by the mountains which are source of scenic beauty ,perennial rivers,home of forets and wildlife.about 43 percent of land area is plain which is highly suitable for agriculture.
