Explain the interior of the Earth with the help of a diagram
It should be lenghty
Answers
Explanation:
Earth's interior is made up of a series of layers that sit below the surface crust. In order of depth, these layers include the solid, but flowing mantle, the liquid outer core and the solid iron outer core, which helps create Earth's protective magnetic field. ... Read about the latest
Answer:
if we have ever observed an apple carefully we must have discovered that it is made of three layers like our earth. the skin of the apple may be compared with the crust, the fleshy part is the mantle and the central part is the core.
Structure and layers of the earth
Crust
the surface or outer layer of the Earth is known as the crust. it consists of the thinnest of all the layers which is about 35 km on the continental masses and only 5 kilometre On The Ocean floors. the continental mass mainly consists of silica and Alumina. it is thus called sial (si- silica and al-Alumina) whereas the Oceanic crust mainly consists of silica and Magnesium; it is, therefore, called Sima (Si-silica and ma- magnesium).
Mantle
the Mantle is the largest layer of the earth beneath the crust. just beneath the crust lies this 2900 km thick layer called the mantle. it lies between the crust and the core.
The mantle consists of iron ,aluminium ,calcium, silicon, and magnesium and oxygen. the crust 'floats' on the top of the mantle. the mantle has very high temperature reaching 4500 degree Celsius which turns it into a 'molten' state. this 'molten' rock is known as magma. the only time we see the hot molten Rock of the Mantle is when it gushes out through the crust in a volcanic eruption. hot spots are places on the earth's crust where the hot mantle Rock nearer to the surface breaks to form volcanoes.
Core
the innermost layer is the core with a radius of about 3500km. it consists of Nickel and iron and is called nife (Ni -nickel and fe-ferrous i. e. Iron). the central core has a very high temperature and pressure. the temperature range varies between 2200 degree Celsius and 5000 degree Celsius at the core of the earth.
