Given

p(x) = x^2 +3ax +k =0

-a is a root

p(-a) =( -a)^2 +3a(-a) +k=0

a^2 -3a^2 +k =0

-2a^2 +k =0

. k= 2a^2

Hope it helps

✏ANSWER✍

✒ Since '-a' is a root of the Quadratic equation

X² + 30x + k = 0

(-a)² + 3a (a) + k = 0

Or, - 3a² + k = 0

Or, k - 2a² = 0

=> k = 2a² {ANS}
