Scheduled Languages: Apart from Hindi, there are 22 other languages which is been identified as Scheduled Languages by the Constitution.  If the candidate is giving any examination which is conducted for central government jobs then he has the right to choose any of these languages. States may have their personal formal languages. However, much of the government business takes place in the formal language of the State.

No National Language: Constitution of India does not recognize any language as the national language to any single language. However, Hindi was recognized as the formal language. But Hindi is the parent language of  40 percent nearly of Indians.
