☆ Malleable:-
A material which can be turned into thin sheets on hammering,is said to be malleable. Metals are malleable because metals can be beaten with hammer to make thin sheets.
☆ Ductile:-
A material which can be turned into thin wire by stretching is said to be a ductile.Metals are ductile because they can stretched.

- Ductility - The property of metals through which they can be stretched into thin wires is known as ductility. Ex- Gold can be drawn into 2 km of wires.
- Malleability - The property of metals through which they can be beaten into thin sheets is known as malleability. Ex- Aluminium foils
- Sonority - the property of metals through which they produce a ringing sound after banging is called sonority
- Luster - It is the property of many metals (exception, Diamond, a non -metal) which makes them shine by reflecting the light falling on their surface, when it is polished, e.g., iron rods, gold, silver.
