It is based on evolutionary ancestry and generates trees called cladograms. Cladistics also identifies clades, which are groups of organisms that include an ancestor species and its descendants. Classifying organisms on the basis of descent from a common ancestor is called phylogenetic classification.

HLO MATE HERE IS UR ANSWER

.Phylogenetic system of classification is introduced by Ernst Haeckel .

. It is based on the common Ancestry.

. Two basic terms in this classification are

1. phylogeny 2. clade.

. The 'evolution history' of a group of genetically related organism is called phylogeny ( life tree ).

. A phylogeny is represenented by a tree diagram and is called phylogenetic tree.

. Clade ia a 'group of organism ' that includes a common ancestor species and all its descendants.

. It includes all ancestors species and their descent species.

. Clade represents a single brach on phylogeny (life tree )

. CLADESTIC CHARACTERS :

1. Anologous characters ( based on function )

Ex : Wings of birds and butterflies , wings of sparrow and patagia in flying squirrels.

2.Homologous characters (inherited from common ancestros )

Ex : Forelimbs of birds , forelimbs of whales .
