the sequence of processes used to extract a metal in its pure form from its Ore is called metallurgy .for example Aluminium is extracted from bauxite .
the extraction of aluminium from bauxite involves the following steps :-
1) concentration of Bauxite (ore) -
it is the process of removal of impurities from the Bauxite (ore)
2) reduction -
it is the process of the reduction of the aluminium (metal) bauxite (ore) to get the aluminium in its free state.
3) refining of aluminium -
the aluminium (metal) obtained by reduction is impure refining is the process of purification of aluminium (metal).
