Hello friend
Dust came out when a carpet is beaten with stick because of inertia.
=> Dust particles were at rest on the carpet. However when you beat the carpet, you are forcing the dust to move along with the carpet. Due to the dust having inertia, it doesn't move, or rather, it resists motion. This is why dust comes out of a carpet when it is beaten with a stick.
I hope this will help you

Intertia of rest :-
The tendency of a body to oppose any change in it's state of rest is known as inertia of rest.
The carpet is beaten with a stick to remove the dust particles :
→ When carpet is beaten with a stick, fibre of carpet comes in motion and the dust falls down due to inertia of rest.
When the carpet is beaten with a stick, the fibres of the carpet come in motion and hence move forward. On the other hand, the dust particles remain at rest due to inertia of rest . Therefore, they fall down.
