Rules for calculation of oxidation number:-)

♡All elements which are exist in its elementary state has zero oxidation number.

♡Metals of 1st and 2nd group of modern periodic table has +1 and +2 oxidation state respectively.

♡ Oxidation state of non-metal is generally negative.

♡ Hydrogen has zero, +1 and -1 Oxidation State .

♡ ln p block elements, oxidation States can be changed due to presence of vacant d-orbital.

♡ In d- block elements Oxidation state is not fixed for any element .
