Malpighian tubules are excretory and osmoregulatory organs of insects and some other arthropods. Malpighian tubules are long, yellow system of branching tubules emerging from alimentary canal is present on the junction of mid gut and hindgut. They lie free in the haemolymph but are blind at end. They are 100 to 150 in number arranged in 6 to 8 bundles. They absorb solute, water and wastes from the haemolymph.
