The whitish coloured reproductive gland that is located at the junction of ejaculatory duct and vasa deferentia is known as mushroom gland. It is located in the sixth and seventh segments of the abdomen of male cockroach. It functions as accessory reproductive structure. Two types of tubules are present is this gland i.e. utriculimajore forming the inner layer of spermatophore and utriculibreviores that functions in the nourishment of sperm.
