consistuency - a group of voters in a specified area who elect a representative to a legislative body.

A political party whose MLAs have won more than half the number of constituencies in a state can be said to be in a majority.

The political party that has the majority is called the ruling party and all other members are called the opposition.

The Opposition is the largest non-government party or coalition of parties in the Legislative Assembly. The Opposition's main role is to question the government of the day and hold them accountable.
