Answer:

The six kinds of fractions are, proper fractions, improper fractions, mixed fractions, like fractions, unlike fractions and equivalent fractions.

Explanation:

Proper fractions -

A fraction where the numerator (the top number) is less than the denominator (the bottom number).

Example :3/5

Improper fractions -

A fraction where the numerator (the top number) is greater than or equal to the denominator (the bottom number).

Example - 9/5

Mixed Fraction

A whole number and a fraction combined into one "mixed" number.

Example - 9 6/10

Like fractions - Like fractions are fractions that have the exact same denominator. That's it! We would be working with wholes that are split into the same number of pieces. It doesn't matter what the numerator is, so long as the denominators are the same.

3/8,5/8,6/8

Unlike fractions - Unlike fractions are fractions that have different denominators. Examples. The first fraction below has a denominator of two and the second fraction below has a denominator of three. Since the denominators are different, they are unlike fractions.

Example - 3/9,5/6,9/11
