• in 1951 Sri Lanka made Sinhala is the national language and disregarded the Tamil.

• government started following preferential policies.

• the new constitution stated that the state board protect and forster Buddhism.

• most of the demands of the Tamil peoples were ignored by the government which mainly was a separate state.

• since the Dutch speaking people accepted the equal representation in the central government so the French speaking peoples also accepted the equal representation in state government.
