Explain the ways in which glucose is broken down in absence of oxygen

In plants-

6 carbon molecules breaks into pyruate in cytoplasm and it releases ethanol , Co2 , energy
In animals-

6 carbon molecules of glucose breaks into 3 carbon in cytoplasm and in the lack of oxygen it releases lactic acid and energy.
