We know that ;
average velocity= s/t = v+u/2
2s = (v+u)t

a= v-u/t
v= u+at
t = v-u/a
Now put the value of t in above equation:
2s = (v+u)t
2s=(v+u) (v-u)/a
2as = v^2 - u^2
s = v^2 - u^2/2a
