Dear Ankit:
I hope this letter finds you in good fettle. Well, I am writing this letter in response to your mother’s letter to me in which she complained that you are not paying much attention to your personal cleanliness. You don’t take bath for days together; your room is always in a state of perpetual mess! Well dear friend this is quite disagreeable.
According to Addison, cleanliness is a mark of politeness, as it produces affection, and as it bears analogy to purity of mind. It makes us agreeable to others. It is an excellent preservative of health; and several vices, destructive both to body and mind, are inconsistent with it. Cleanliness is a much sought after virtue, not possessed by many.
All well-cultured people are very clean usually. As far as I remember you used to be very immaculate in all your ways. Kindly take care of your-self. I am sure you will look after yourself. The rest is fine. I will visit your place in the coming winter-break. Give regards to uncle and aunt.
