Explain threshing. Plz
Answers
Answer:
Threshing is the process of loosening the edible part of grain (or other crop) from the chaff to which it is attached. It is the step in grain preparation after reaping. Threshing does not remove the bran from the grain.
Threshing may be done by beating the grain using a flail on a threshing floor. Another traditional method of threshing is to make donkeys or oxen walk in circles on the grain on a hard surface. A modern version of this in some areas is to spread the grain on the surface of a country road so the grain may be threshed by the wheels of passing vehicles

☆ Threshing ☆
Farmers grow various food grains like wheat, maize, rice, etc in the fields. On ripening, the crop is cut or harvesting. This harvested crop has the grain attached to the stalks. To obtain the grains we have two separate this grain from their stalks. This is done by threshing.
The process of separating grains from the stalk is called threshing.
Procedure :- Threshing is done by -
(i) Beating :-
Farmers beat the bundles of stalks attached to the grains with a stick. The grains thus break off the stalks.
(ii) Animals :-
Animals like bullocks are allowed to crush the stalks and then the grain are separated from stalks.
(iii) Machines :-
Breaking of stalks from grains is done by machines called threshers. This is done specially in large field.
