Topsoil is the topmost thin fertile layer of soil.Humus is the organic matter present in the soil.It adds fertility to the Soil.Bhangar is a kind of alluvial soil. It is composed of lime nodules or kanker and has clayey composition and it is dark in texture and is old soil. Khadar soil is also type of alluvial soil but it is formed of silt and clay. It is very fertile and light in texture.

'In situ' is aterm given to sedimentary or residual soil because they are formed in their original position by the breaking of parent rocks. Examples are red soil, black soil, laterite soil, etc.
