The undesirable plants that grow among the crops are called weeds. Amaranthus, wild oat, grass, etc ate some examples of weeds. The process of removing the weeds is known as weeding.

Weeds need to be removed as they share the light, space, nutrients and water with the crop growing simultaneously and ultimately affect the growing crops.

If not removed these sweets may prove to be e poisonous to animals and humans being if they are harvested along with the crops.

Method applied for weddings are as follow :

(i) Manual method :-

Weeds may be uprooted manually by hand or by using implements like a trowel, harrow or hoe.

Though manual bidding is the cheapest way to remove weeds get several disadvantage are associated with this method. Some of them are :

● It is a time consuming method.

● Sometimes desired crops may also be removed accidently.

(ii) Chemical method :-

Weedicides are the Chemicals that are used to remove weeds. The weedicides such as 2, 4-D are generally is sprayed during the vegetative growth of weeds. However, it is recommended that the farmers to over their mouth and nose while spraying weedicides.

(iii) Biological control method :-

This method is the most commonly used method for weed control. It involves the use of insect that destroy the growth of wheat without affecting the the crop growing in the field.
