Explain why an iron nail floats on mercury,but it sinks in water

hi ,

 An iron nail floats on mercury because the density of mercury is greater than the density of iron.But the density of water is less than that of iron so it sinks in water.

an iron nail float on Mercury but it sink in water because an iron nail density is less than Mercury but the Iron nails density is more than water
