Eyes of every animal has two cells ; one is cord s and the other is rods. Cords help us to see during day time while rods help us to see during night time. Our eyes have more cords and less rods thats why we can see better during day time.

Same is in the case of birds, owls have more rods than cords thats why they can see better during night time. Where as eagle have more cords than rods so they see better during day time.

An owl can see very well at night but not during the daytime. its retina has a large no. of rods and a few cones. thus it can see objects in dim light, but not in bright light due to lack of cones. Furthermore it has a large cornea as well as pupil together enough of dim light. thus, it can see in darkness.

Thus for an eagle is the opposite.
