RUSTING completely deteriorates the quality of metal .
it is not useful chemical reaction because:-
- It makes the iron objects fragile and weak .
- It makes the surface of metal coarse and flaky.
- Due to rusting the strength of metal reduces and its quality degrades over the period of time . Hence metal becomes unsuitable for its application.
- Use of rusted metal and objects can result in mishappening in industries and factories.
- rusting promotes the growth of certain bacteria on the surface of metal which causes tetanus in humans , a potentially fatal disease.

Explanation:
Rusting is not a useful or harmful chemical reaction because , The original quality of a metal will be damaged and obviously the metal losses its strength.
The main reason why we say corrosion or rusting is useless because it makes the metal as insulator by forming rust on the surface of the metal and will not allow electric current or electricity to pass through it and even the structure and surface of the metal leads to change.
