Explain why the intensity or loudness of sound emitted by a plucked wire is increaesd when it is mounted on a board?

The loudness of the sound is heard by a plucked wire increased when it is mounted on a sound board because the size of the reflecting surface must be bigger than the wavelength of the sound wave which is the phenomenon of reflection of the sound waves is utilized in making the megaphone ,sound board and ear trumpet
