Yes imitation is really helpful in observational learning as when we imit something we try to copy it into our lives and our stimulus becomes sensitive towards that.
We become creative and specialised in those things and our mind becomes innovative and we get new ideas from it.
Firstly from nature, it stands as a model for us and teaches us many lessons as trees teach us to have humility within, smoke teach us to always rise up there's no end.
Earth teaches us to keep on doing our work.
Sun teaches us to be punctual .
Wind teaches us to be calm and peaceful.
Cows teach us to do charity.
Bulls teach us to be hardworking.
There are science practicals too , why?
Don't you think theory is enough ?
"NO", it's not.
A movie like structure comes into our mind when we imit something through observations and slides pass down accordingly.
So, dear there's no end for models for observation and that's only the imitation.
We see them actually observe them and it helps us much in learning.
Hope it helps!
