one mole is defined as the amount of substance of a system which contains as many entities like atoms ,molecules and ions as there are atoms in 12 grams of carbon 12 .

gungun38: Sorry i forgot to answer the 2 nd part ... molar mass of water molecule 18 g i.e 18 g of water contains 1 mole of water molecule or 6.022×10²³ molecules so 45 g of water will contain 6.022×10²³ molecules = 45/18 × 6.022× 10²³ = 2.5 × 10²³ molecules approx...

According to the mole concept, every substance of one mole of it's amount ,has 6.022×10²³ amount of molecules.

Now for the mathematical problem mentioned in the question,

One mole of water = (2×1 + 16) = 18 grams.

So,

18 grams of water has = 6.022×10²³ molecules

1 gram of water has = 6.022 × 10²³ / 18 molecules

45 gram of water has = 6.022 × 10²³ × 45 / 18 = 1.505×10²⁴ (approx.) molecules (answer)
