Explain with reason why giraffe has long neck

There are several theories that state the reason behind giraffe having long neck, couple of them are prominent, first being "competing browsing hypothesis" by Darwin, which states to avoid and win browsing i.e. feeding on vegetation over several smaller species on African grasslands Giraffe eventually evolved with longer necks however some oppose this theory on the basis of Giraffe’s lesser amount of time spent on eating, also long neck becomes a trouble when you have less vegetation or food available.

Other theory states about “the sexual selection hypothesis”, which states longer necks were developed as part of having stronger sexual characteristics, generally males with stronger neck are more likely to win mating battles, but this theory also has a mistake that in this case females to have long necks.
