HeY frnd,
"Freedom” is greatly emphasized in the entire poem by Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore is a modern Indian poet who talks about the process and struggle of freedom in most of his poems and stories. This poem is one of the many poems that Tagore has written for the freedom of his country, India.
The subject matter in this poem is very prominently shown. The theme of freedom, fear, mistrust, anger and overcoming past challenges is highlighted in the poem. In the first two lines, Tagore emphasis the entire theme of the poem:
“Freedom from fear is the freedom
I claim for you my motherland!”
In my opinion, the poem talks and emphasis upon the need to free ourselves from the past with its traditions, grudges and obligations, and live our lives according to the way we want. It talks about the claiming of freedom for India from the “shackles” of past ideals, habits and “mindless” traditions.
POETIC MERITS
In this poem, Tagore has used several techniques to emphasize and highlight the theme. The poem consists of one stanza, like a sonnet. There is no rhyming pattern but this does not take away from the flow of the poem.

Hope this helps u..

Answer:

This poem was written by Rabindranath Tagore. The poet is wishing that his country be free of the fear, the fear of oppression by its colonized rulers. According to him the freedom of fear is the real freedom. He wishes the country to be free of burden of the years it has been oppressed. The country has been tolerating enough and it can bear anymore.
