the standard form is 2x-y= 3....(linear equation).

now if x= 2,

then 2x= 4

therefore,

4-y=3

-y= 3-4

-y=-1

y=1............. (1)

also,

if x=4,

then 2x=8

therefore,

equation would be=

8-y=3

-y=3-8

-y=-5

y=5...... (2)

therefore the two solutions are

1.(x, y)=(2, 1)

2.(x, y) =(4, 5).

now for the second part of the question.

here,

x=2 and y=3

so by putting the value of x in the equation,

we get the answer which is in (1)

but,

the value of y is not 3 but it is 1.

therefore

(2, 3) is not a solution
