Before answering your question, let us first look at the definition of a rebel.

A rebel is-

  • a person who fights against the government of their country.
  • a person who opposes somebody in authority.
  • a person who does not like to obey rules or does not accept normal standards of behaviour, dress and so on.

I'd like to answer this question with much reference to the third definition.

I've often heard people saying that if you grow up under the care of strîct parents, you'd turn out to be rebèllious later on in life. I don't know how trûe that is but here's what I feel.

My parents are kińda strîct but I don't think I've turned out to be a rebel. ;) Neither would I ever wish to be one. I'd say that that had a lot to do with how I was bróught up. Majôr creďit goes to my Mom's prayer. Ever since we were kids, I remember whenever we had prayer mèetings, she'd always tell us to be obèdient, to love and above all, fèar the Lórd. That kinda stuck with me, I guess. And though I do throw tantrùms once in a while, I don't have any plans on rebelling against my parent's wishes.

Also, we can't always put all the blame on the rebels. I know a lot of people who became like that, especially because of issues at home. It's very sad, I must say. As such, it's very important that if we have rebellious friends / family members , to reach out to them. Lending our eârs and helping them, though it may not seem much, will definitely bring about a change.

I hope I answered to your satisfaction.
