Firstly, (x+5)^2 = (x+5)(x+5) = x^2 + 10x + 25.

Next, -4(x+5) = -4x - 20

Finally,  x^2 + 10x + 25 - 4x - 20 = x^2 + 6x + 5

If you then want to solve the equation to find x, you have to factorise the quadratic, assuming it equals 0.

x^2 + 6x + 5 = 0

(x+5)(x+1)=0

x=-5 or -1
