Factoring:  3a2 + 6ab - 2a + 3b2 + 2b + c2

Thoughtfully split the expression at hand into groups, each group having two terms :

Group 1:  2b - 2a
Group 2:  6ab + 3a2
Group 3:  3b2 + c2

Pull out from each group separately :

Group 1:   (a - b) • (-2)
Group 2:   (a + 2b) • (3a)
Group 3:   (3b2 + c2) • (1)

Looking for common sub-expressions :

Group 1:   (a - b) • (-2)
Group 3:   (3b2 + c2) • (1)
Group 2:   (a + 2b) • (3a)
