hi

 {y}^{2} (2y + 1) - 1(2y + 1) \\ = ({y}^{2} - 1)(2y + 1) \\ = (y + 1)(y - 1)(2y + 1)
hope it will help you ☺️

Hello Mate!

= 2y³ + y² - 2y - 1

= y² ( 2y + 1 ) - 1 ( 2y + 1 )

= ( 2y + 1 )( y² - 1 )

= ( 2y + 1 )[ y² - 1² ]

= ( 2y + 1 )( y + 1 )( y - 1 )

How to factorise?

Try to take common factors out. Note the factors you make should me in multiplication.

Verification :

= ( 2y + 1 )( y² - 1 )

= 2y( y² - 1 ) + 1( y² - 1 )

= 2y³ - 2y + y² - 1

= 2y³ + y² - 2y - 1

Hence Proved.

Have great future ahead!
