So, 5x² - 16xy - 16y² is the equation. On solving it we get,
= 5x² - 16xy - 16y²
While spliting the middle term, the splittted terms product must be equal to the product of 1st and 2nd term.
= 5x² - 20xy + 4xy - 16y²
= 5x( x - 4y ) + 4y( x - 4y )
= ( 5x + 4y )( x - 4y ).
