x^2 - x - 6

Splitting the middle term,

x^2 + 2x - 3x - 6

Taking out the common factors,

x ( x + 2 ) - 3 ( x + 2 )

Taking out ( x + 2 ) as common,

( x + 2 ) ( x - 3 )

Ans. x^2 - x - 6 = ( x + 2 ) ( x - 3 )

Step-by-step explanation:

x²-(3x-2x)-6

x²-3x+2x-6

x(x-3)+2(x-3)

Therefore:(x-3)(x+2)

x-3=0 || x+2=0

x=3. || x= -2

Therefore take the value of x as 3....cause it is +ve.....It is easy to preform tasks.....Hope it helps you......And also all the best for your future studies
