Albert Einstein once said that, “So long as ANY SINGLE CHILD is deprived on this earth; NO invention is great and No discovery is outstanding”.

We celebrate children’s day on 14th November, as it is the birthday of India’s first prime minister & the favorite Nehruchacha of all children. On this day, let us take a look on the children of our nation as well as our own childhood.India is the youngest nation on this world having maximum number of child & youth population. Jeevantirth believes that the nation whose children & youth are neglected can never develop. If we love our nation, we should do all that is possible for the children & youth of our nation.

With a thought that “Children are our future & let us build their present”, Jeevantirth organized a unique Bal Melo (fun fair). Ramapir’s Tekro is the biggest slum of Ahmedabad resided by more then 35,000 families. Every morning almost 5000 women from this area step out of their houses to contribute in keeping the Ahmedabad city neat & clean. Underprivileged children from this area were invited to celebrate Children’s Day & enjoy to the fullest in the Bal Melo from 9am to 2pm today. More then 4000 children from Ganeshnagar, Balolnagar, Nirnaynagar & Ramapir Tekro breathed in the vibrant air of the Bal Melo.

More then 15 stalls & corners were positioned with themes like girl child education, scientific experiments, puzzles & mathematical games, environmental education, art & crafts, pottery, De-addiction, beauty parlor, outdoor games, cartoons movies, cultural programs & delicious eateries. The children not only enjoyed freely but also absorbed information that enriches life.

Various renowned personalities and social organizations provided their encouraging support to the Bal Mela. Mr. Piyush Desai, Chairman of Wagh Bakri Tea & Mr. M. S. Parmar, Additional Labor Commissioner of Ahmedabad District were the chief guests at the Bal Mela. Organizations like Manav Sadhana, Ashirwad Trust, Amardeep Trust, Samvedna Trust, Sharda Trust, Sarjan Trust, Gujarat Vidyapith, Gyan Shala, Unnati (Bangalore) & Yuva Kranti Dal also extended their helping hand & support to make this Bal Mela a smiling success.
