Let the ages of 2 childrens be x years
Fathers age = 3x
Sum of the ages of 2 children after 5 years = x + 10
Fathers age after 5 yrs = 2(x + 10)
A/q,
3x + 5 = 2(x + 10)
3x + 5 = 2x + 20
3x - 2x = 20 - 5
x = 15
Fathers present age => 3x => 3 × 15 =>
Fathers age = 3x
Sum of the ages of 2 children after 5 years = x + 10
Fathers age after 5 yrs = 2(x + 10)
A/q,
3x + 5 = 2(x + 10)
3x + 5 = 2x + 20
3x - 2x = 20 - 5
x = 15
Fathers present age => 3x => 3 × 15 =>

Answer :
Given,
Father's age is 3 times the sum of ages of his two children.
After 5 years his age will be twice the sum of ages of two children.
To find,
present age of father
Solution :
Let the sum of ages of his two children be x.
ATQ,
His age is 3x
After 5 years,
Father's age = 3x + 5
Children's age = x + 5× 2 ( twice of five as there are two child's )
= x + 10
ATQ,
3x + 5 = 2(x + 10 )
3x + 5 = 2x + 20
This is a linear equation in one variable i.e x.
Solving this linear equation using transposition :
3x - 2x = 20 - 5
x = 15 years
So,
Father's present age = 3x = 3× 15 = 45 years.
