In FCC the relation between radius and edge length is given as
4∗R=a∗(√2)4∗R=a∗(√2) // R is the radius of the atom
or a=2√2∗Ra=2√2∗R // a is edge length of unit cell
Edge uncovered can be calculated as : a−2∗R= 0.83Ra−2∗R= 0.83R
Percentage edge uncovered : (0.83R/a)∗100=29.270.83R/a)∗100=29.27%
