Start where you stand”
A beautiful and motivational poem has many figures of speech like ‘
1) Personification- Time is Fleet
2) Metonymy- The world won’t care about your old defeats
3) Metaphor- This is another chapter in the book etc
But if you come across any sentence which seem to to have no such figure of speech then remember to look for repetition of similar consonants and vowels.
So, ‘Start where you stand’ has two s’s which qualifies it as Alliteration. If you see repetition on vowel sound then it is an example of assonance.
