find at what temperature the velocity of sound in air is 1.5 times the velocity at 7c

Velocity of sound in air is dependent on the absolute temperature of the medium in which it travels.  It is proportional to square root of T.

                  v ∞ √T

T1 = 7°C = 280°K
T2 = ?

Given v2 / v1 = 1.5

  v2/v1  = √(T2 / T1)
   1.5²  = T2/T1
   T2 = 2.25 * T1 
        = 2.25 * 280 = 630°K
        = 357°C

    So at 357°C sound travels at 1.5 times the speed at 7°C.
