Find k if x-12 is a factor of x³ -23x³ + 142x + k

here's Ur answer...

given that x-12 is a factor of x³ - 23x³ + 142x + k

p(x) = x³ - 23x³ + 142x + k

g(x) = x - 12

x - 12 = 0

x = 12

on putting values :-

p(12) = (12)³ - 23(12)³ + 142(12) + k = 0

>> 1728 - 23(1728) + 1704 + k = 0

>> 1728 - 39744 + 1704 + k = 0

>> 1728 + 1704 - 39744 + k = 0

>> 3432 - 39744 + k = 0

>> -36312 + k = 0

>> k = 0 + 36312

>> k = 36312
