Another name of inert gas in noble gas. They basically have low reactivity.

Some of the gaseous elements are helium ,neon ,argon, krypton, xenon and radon.

The applications of noble gases are as follows.

  • Helium-It stands at the top of the noble gas (He).It contains only two electrons.Their outer shells are full and hence doesn't react with other elements.
  • Neon-It is a chemical element with atomic no 10.It is basically colorless , , oderless and inert.
  • Argon-It is a chemical element symbol is Ar with atomic no 18.It is the third abundant gas.
  • Krypton-It is a chemical element whose atomic no is 36 and symbol is Kr.It is colorless , oderless and tasteless.
  • Xenon-Xenon is basically used in light emiting devices. The atomic no of xenon is 54.It is the first element to be synthesized to a compound.Symbol-Xe
  • Radon-It is radioactive, colorless, oderless and also tasteless noble gas.The atomic no of this element is 86.

Noble gases or inert gases find a number of applications in the industry as well as laboratories.

They are used in reactions where there inertness is required.

They are used in the production of titanium. Neon is used in fog lights and TV.

Helium is used as a breathing gas.
