In our region, the source of water is a river flowing through the city and some tube-wells dug at various places in the area. The river water and Tube well water is supplied to the homes through taps after suitable treatment. Through water from these sources available to all the people living in this area but it is not available in sufficient quantity everywhere. there is usually some storage of water which becomes very severe during hot summer season. Some village on the Outskirts of the city also obtain their water supply directly from the wells.

In my town, the water supply from the municipalty is highly erattic. Most of the households have installed handpumps in their backyard. Some of the people use electric operated pumps to lift water. Majority of the people rely on manual labour to lift ground water.Most of the people have good access to drinking water.
