Answer

-25

Explanation

Given A.P., 17, 14, 11 ...... - 40

We have to find 6th term from the end

Reversing the A.P., we get

- 40, -37, -33.................17

Now the 6th term of this A.P. would be our required answer

Now, a = - 40

d = 3

Apply formula for general term

\sf T_n = a + (n - 1)d \\

Put n as 6 and the values of a and d.

\sf T_6 = -40 + (6 - 1)3\\\\\implies T_6 = -40 + 5(3) \\\\\implies T_6 = -40 + 15 \\\\\implies T_6 = -25

Hence 6 th term from the end of the A.P. 17, 14, 11, ......... - 40 is - 25.
