Time = 1.5 years

Rate = 10% per annum

Compounded half yearly

number of half years = 3

Amount when interest is compounded half yearly =  {\bold{P(1+ \frac{R}{200})^{2n}}}

On putting the values :

 4500(1+ \frac{10}{100})^3 \\ => 5989.5

Hence, the Amount is Rs. 5989.5

Compound Interest = Amount - Principal

= Rs. 5989.5 - Rs. 4500

= Rs. 1489.5

Hence, the compound interest is Rs. 1489.5
